Did you cut your cord when all these streaming services came out? We did! We were paying a fortune for internet and cable so started looking at what we could do to reduce costs. I think that was near a decade ago. We loved all the streaming options out there and at the time, they were super cheap! Things have changed though. So many channels started offering streaming, prices on our existing ones just kept rising. I work from home so need to have fast speed internet, have it fast enough to power all the phones, tablets and tv’s hooked to it. I have enjoyed PBS, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Paramount, BritBox, and Acorn TV among others over the years but at the end of the day the original switch was because of money and so is this switch.
I was able to get a plan that was just $15 a month over what I pay for our fast speed internet. It includes paramount so I won’t need to pay for that any longer. I’ll still be able to use apps on my cable service so can add in our Amazon Prime. Hulu and Disney came with my upgraded cell phone plan on Disney. That didn’t cost us additional even though its an upgrade because I downgraded my husbands plan. He very rarely uses his phone for calls, and absolutely never uses it for apps. We went to a pay as you go that was $30 a month if we did the autopay. I cannot complain there.
At this point in time, cable is absolutely the more affordable option. That could change again in future! We should be able to see most of what we watch already with the changes we have made save about $120 a month on all those various streaming services. If there is something in particular I’d like to see I can always add a service for a month, binge watch that show and then drop it again!
