Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Cost: About $2.50 per pound · Feeds 4

Why I Love It:
A simple weeknight dinner that feels take-out fancy but costs under ten bucks. Sweet, sticky, and a little tangy — everything wings should be.

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 lb chicken wings (split)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice (or crushed pineapple with juice)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp grated ginger (or ¼ tsp ground)
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch + 1 Tbsp water for thickening
  • Sesame seeds & scallions for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Bake the wings at 400 °F for 35- 45 minutes until crispy. (if you have bigger wings leave them in longer)
  2. Meanwhile, make the sauce: In a small pan combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken.
  3. Toss the wings in the glaze and return to the oven for another 10 minutes to set that sticky coating.
  4. Serve with rice or roasted veggies.
