A new Tradition: Grandchildren are doing Secret Santa
My eldest daughter had the best idea, so we’re starting a new tradition here: Secret Santa.
Because kids should learn how to give — how to think about someone else — especially during this season. Don’t you think?
They get so much joy out of picking things out. Watching them quietly observe, plan, and get excited about making someone else happy has been one of my favorite parts of Christmas this year.
They even made a deal to shop at Five Below so it wouldn’t break the bank. Thoughtful and budget-conscious — a win all around.
Of course, this means I now know everyone’s secrets… because kids absolutely have to tell someone. And apparently, that someone is me.
So here I am, holding all the Christmas secrets and smiling to myself.
This feels like the kind of tradition that sticks — not because of what was spent, but because of what was learned.
